Teachers, students, and parent volunteers gathered at Tenison Woods College early this morning for the beginning of the 2024 Year 6 Canberra Camp. We were farewelled by parents, siblings and loved ones, as well Mr Mezinec and Mrs Dickson, as we hit the highway for the road trip of the year with our lovely bus drivers Brett and Steve towards the Victorian border. The bus trip was surprisingly quiet as students mingled amongst themselves in their seats. Morning tea at Dunkeld was a treat, admiring the fresh baked goods or numerous slabs of Tim Tams and Assorted Creams. Lunch at Dunolly was full of enjoyment eating our packed lunch to then explore the playground. There may be some students coming back to Tenison with design plans for the 2025 playground upgrade! The pump track was great amusement to wear off some energy for the boys. We arrived at Camp Kookaburra at around 4pm where students were greeted by sheep and alpacas on a beautiful farming landscape. All were keen to exit the bus, locate their bags, and be the first person to score the top bunk! The facilities at Camp Kookaburra have been thoroughly enjoyed and have been a highlight of the trip so far! Tennis court, basketball court, Gaga Pit (another possible addition to the 2025 playground upgrade), endless supply of sports equipment, and large open spaces for those crazy antics. Camp tops were handed out to students tonight, to ensure they are prepared for the 5:30AM wake up call… Wish us luck!
