Leaving Students - File Access

File access after finishing your schooling at Tenison Woods College
If your time at Tenison Woods College is coming to and end, it's a good time to think about any school files or contacts you may need in the future.
Due to licensing limitations the school cannot keep accounts open indefinitely and here are some considerations as you prepare to leave the school.
It's much easier to prepare for your transition to life after Tenison, rather than trying to obtain information once your account has been closed.
Good luck with your future endeavours!
1. Change to a personal email address.
Once your account has been closed you will lose access to your school mailbox, and any emails sent to your school address will stop working.
You will need to change your address for services that you want to maintain contact. This could include any emails regarding work experience, university, Tafe, and any websites such as Canva. Websites like Canva allow you to change the email address in account settings. Check that these are directed to your personal Outlook, iCloud, Gmail, etc.
2. Copy any work you would like to keep.
You will lose access to all software/application linked to your school email. This includes your school OneDrive, SEQTA, Adobe Suite, Maya, and Autodesk Suite. Make sure to copy any files that you want from these programs. Download any assessments/feedback and reports from Seqta.
3. Account deletion
For year 12 students that leave at the end of year you can access your account until the 28th of February and it will be removed at the end of Term 1.
If you leave during the year, your account will be disabled immediately.
Once your Office 365 account has been disabled, IT will have simple access to Onedrive and emails for 30 days. Between 30 and 123 days your O365 files can only be recovered by TWC ICT staff using a slower process, and once 123 days have passed your files will be permanently removed by Microsoft.
You can always contact the school ICT department using the 'Contact ICT support' link at the top of the page, but retrieval is dependant on the above Microsoft limitations.
