Open Girls Soccer Progress to Adelaide Round

25.06.24

Tenison Woods College win 11-1! In perfect conditions for soccer the Open Girls Soccer squad hosted St Martins in the regional round of the Statewide Knockout Championships.

Led by our year 12 co-captains Lana Shepherd and Isla Dickson the Titans settled into their passing and moving game creating several early chances before Isla Dickson broke through the Saints defence to break the deadlock.

Emmy Jeffrey popped up to make it two not long after and Andi Corfield capped off a solo run to make it three with 20 minutes remaining in the first half. Bella Morello and Alita Heyser were contributing well in the midfield and it was Heyser who found Jeffrey who scored her second before St Martins closed the gap to three at the break.

The second half saw the Titans improve in the final third with Jeffrey finishing the game with four, Isla Dickson and Andi Corfield scoring hat tricks and Lana Shepherd capping a great performance with one.

Well done to the entire squad who played well and showed great sportsmanship. Next up is a trip to Adelaide early next term.
