Shrove Tuesday

19.02.24

On Tuesday we recognised Shrove Tuesday, with students enjoying delicious pancakes before Ash Wednesday (today), marking the start of the liturgical season of Lent. Pancakes are traditionally served on the Tuesday before Lent begins, which historically was an opportunity for households to use up luxury food items before the season of Lent began.

Students donated $2 for their pancake, with all proceeds going to Project Compassion.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
