Year 9-10 Div 1 State Basketball Finals

06.11.23

Our Division 1 Year 9-10 Basketball teams recently travelled to Adelaide to play in the School Sport SA Knockout Basketball Finals.

The boys teams faced some tough competition from Henley High in the semi final; they played some outstanding team basketball and controlled their game, winning 75-52. The girls first game, also against a strong outfit from Henley High School was well-fought. The game went down to the final siren, with Tenison going down by 3 points 34-37. After a close loss the girls faced St. Michaels for 3rd place and controlled the game from start to finish, winning the game 44-40. Congratulations girls on finishing 3rd in the State.

The boys spirits never wavered and their determination found them line up against Trinity College in the Grand Final. The boys put forward a strong fight, with the score even at half-time and Tenison up by two entering the final quarter. However, it wasn’t to be, with Trinity coming away with an 11-point win 57–46. An outstanding effort with the boys securing 2nd place in the competition.

Thank you to the staff for supporting both teams, and we congratulate the students for their performance on the court.
