Academy of Hospitality Excursion

31.10.23

On Thursday, 14 of our Senior School Academy of Hospitality students travelled to Adelaide to experience a broad range of immersion opportunities designed to expand an understanding around the Hospitality Industry.

The group attended the opening of the International OzAsia Festival and Lucky Dumpling Markets on the banks of the Torrens at dusk with thousands of lights shining for the Moon Lantern Festival.

Friday saw the students start the day with a coffee cupping session at Veneziano with one of Australia’s champion baristas, before visiting Haighs Chocolate Factory and enjoying an amazing French/Vietnamese High Tea at Madame Hanoi in the SkyCity casino complex.

The trip home was made easy with stops at Hahndorf to meet Tiktok barista Homeboy and enjoy some traditional pretzels from Otto’s Bakery as we investigated tourism and marketing concepts.

It was an amazing few days of experiences enjoyed in the city with a big thanks to Trent Eitzen for driving the bus.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
