Open Boys Finish Third in Basketball State Finals

03.10.23

Our Open Boys Knockout team were one of only 4 teams to make it through to compete in the All Schools Championships in Adelaide on September 13.

Coached by Richard Hill and Tom Daly, the boys took on St Peter’s in the first game. St Peter's started the game on fire in the semi-final, constructing a 20-point first quarter lead. Our boys battled hard and got better as the game went on winning the final 3 quarters, but unfortunately, we couldn't fully erase the full quarter time deficit.

It was a different story in the playoff for third place. In true Titans fashion our boys played with dogged determination from the jump. An excellent defensive effort and aggressive offence performance propelled our boys to a tough win against the highly fancied Trinity College.

It was a tremendously successful year for the squad, finishing third in the State after winning against many strong schools and elite level players. Well done boys!
