Year 7/8 Netball State Champions

30.08.23

Our 7/8 Knock Out Netball Team embarked on an exciting journey to Adelaide for the School Sport SA State Finals. The day kicked off with intense matches against Sacred Heart College and Concordia College. Our first game against Sacred Heart was a tight contest, as we worked on refining our combinations. Defenders Mishca Human and Georgia Nulty put in tremendous effort, although we struggled to convert our defensive plays into points, resulting in a draw.

Quickly switching gears, we faced Concordia with the pressure to secure a spot in the Semi-Finals. A new goalie combo of Mishca and Bailey Lewis took the court, with Kalani Dunn courageously playing out of position in defense with Lucy Crowe. A surge of Concordia's early dominance kept us on our toes, but as nerves settled, our Titans found their stride. Despite a strong effort, Concordia took the lead, and although we gained momentum later, it wasn't enough, leading to a 7 goal defeat.

The Semi-Final spot hinged on the results of Sacred Heart and Concordia's match. Fortunately, our percentage secured our place, pushing us to prove ourselves once again. Facing Saint Michael’s, we made adjustments with Bell Coghlan moving to GD and Georgia Nulty back in WA. Lucy Egan and Mishca Human dominated the goal ring, giving the Titans a convincing lead at halftime. Tahnee Grosser and Lucy Crowe entered the game, Tahnee put on a dynamic performance in WA. This whole team effort led us to a triumphant win by 20 goals.

The Grand Final pitted us against Concordia, a challenge we met head-on. Ella Skeer and Bell Coghlan led an impactful early game, while Lucy and Mischa’s connection shone. Despite the opposing crowd, our determination held strong. As the heat wore on, Bailey's efforts in the center were commendable. A united team effort showcased our versatility, securing a hard-fought victory and the State Title win by 26 goals.
