9SHINE 'Leave No Trace' Expo

24.08.23

During Week 4, the 9SHINE students held a 'Leave no Trace' Expo in the Barrie Holmes Stadium. Each group created a solution to a community environmental issue using the ‘Leave no Trace’ principles. Year 5 and 6 classes walked through the expo asking hard hitting questions to the exhibitors. The purpose of this expo is to prepare the Year 9 students for their upcoming 9SHINE experience that will occur in Term 4.

Some quotes from 6D: "A highlight for us was the chickens. This display featured an engaging display, helps to raise awareness of the benefits of having chooks and provided lots of information about the concept."

"Our students also liked the recyclable chair concept. the display featured vast information and there was a prototype for us to examine."

"The Recyclable Clothing concept was unique and interesting. the pamphlets provided us with information about the idea and how it could be implemented."

"The model to show how plastics can be flattened was very interactive."
