Vinnies Day

10.08.23

Last Thursday we acknowledged Vinnies Day, where we focused our attention towards supporting Vinnies, who in turn support the people in our community who are most in need.

Students and staff generously donated non-perishable food items, toiletries, and warm winter clothing, with the donation drive divided into Founder Teams to encourage plenty of donations. A gold coin was also donated for students to participate in comfy Casual Clothes Day.

Another highlight of Vinnies Day was the Fashion Parade at lunchtime, ran by Senior School students in the Barrie Holmes Stadium, with each outfit modelled purchased from Vinnies, showcasing quality fashions at affordable prices. It was hard to believe each outfit only cost $15!

Our female school captain Gael Chizungu stole the runway, with her stunning wedding gown! Well done to all students and staff for making this event very successful; fundraising for those in need and raising much needed awareness for this worthy organisation.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
