On Tuesday 25 July, we were thrilled to welcome The Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Minister for Small and Family Business and Member for Black, The Hon. David Speirs MP.

David was accompanied by Local Member Of The Legislative Council, Hon. Ben Hood MLC. David and Ben were given a comprehensive tour of our Project Recology centre, learning about our ‘Towards Zero Waste’ ambitions and how we are living this goal through action, each and every day. Starting from our lid sorting process, our food waste into compost initiative, and circular recycling and reuse programs, David and Ben were certainly impressed with the many tonnes of waste reused and recycled on the College grounds each year.

Poplars student Dusty proudly shared his role within the Project Recology space, and his thorough knowledge of the processes behind the products that are produced. Thank you to Hon. David Speirs MP and Hon. Ben Hood MLC for their time and interest in our program, and our mission ‘Towards Zero Waste’ at Tenison Woods College.
