ELCC Excursion to Leg of Mutton Lake

07.06.23

On Friday 2 June, the MacKillop and Kindy Care children went on an adventure to the Leg of Mutton Lake. We took the bus, and then walked down to a lush forest with Autumn leaves, foliage, branches and trees. We began with an Acknowledgement of Country and promised to take care of the land we were exploring. The children then took the morning to explore the environment, engaging in inquiry, dramatic and social play, and risk-taking. They were able to use their gross motor skills to run, climb, jump and crawl as they explored.

Some of the notable things we discovered included lots of tree cubbies, interesting leaf shapes and colours, sticks that were short and long, mud, fallen logs, rope swings, and much more!

We took a break for morning tea, where we had Prayer to thank God for the beautiful environment we could play in.

Lastly, we walked through a tunnel to get to the Blue Lake.

It was a wonderful morning!
