National Simultaneous Storytime

24.05.23

On Wednesday 24 May, Tenison Woods College Early Learning through to Year 6 participated in this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime reading of ‘The Speedy Sloth’ by Rebecca Young and Heath McKenzie. The story was of Spike the sloth who decides she is going to run in the Great Race even though others told her it couldn’t be done!

Students were read to in the library, watched the live event from Taronga Zoo, listened to Australian Childrens Laureate, Gabrielle Wang, Zookeepers from Singapore Zoo Sloth enclosure or Grant Denyer from the Bathurst National Motor Racing Museum who brought this wonderful picture book to life.

Plenty of fun and enjoyment was had by all while promoting the importance of reading and literacy for all children.

We can’t wait for next year!
