Sacrament of Confirmation

24.05.23

Congratulations to the children of the Parish and College community who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation last Friday night. We congratulate our students:

Lexie Fennell, Mia Guthridge, Ava Hayden, Blake Humphries, Liz Kiyombo, Abbey Kroon, Isaac Lindner, Ted Lucas, Harry Lucas, Grace Mugavin and Angus Robinson.

We continue to pray for these children and their families as they journey towards full initiation into the Catholic Church. A special thanks to Fr Dean Marin, Vicar General of Adelaide Archdiocese for coming down and celebrating this beautiful Sacrament with us.

Cisca Teodoro, Rayhna Stephens and I would also like to thank all of the families and their sponsors for their commitment to the preparation for this special milestone. It is a privilege to be on this journey with you all and to witness the children grow in their love of God and their eagerness to learn more about the Catholic faith. The children are looking forward to celebrating their First Holy Communion later this Term and as a Sacramental team, we are looking forward to witnessing the children continue their full and active participation in the life of the Church. Fr Dean Marin reminded the children that the gifts of the Holy Spirit – Knowledge, Understanding, Piety, Fortitude, Counsel, Wisdom and Fear of the Lord – given to them at their confirmation were the same gifts brought down upon the apostles in the Upper Room at Pentecost. These gifts are like the tools that we need to do good in the world and make a difference in the lives of others. The Holy Spirit is our helper and guide, and it is our job to use these gifts to be a helper and guide to others.
