Year 9/10 Boys Football Kick Into the Next Round with a Strong Win

17.05.23

Our Year 9/10 Boys Football team played a talented and physical game against Grant High School yesterday at Malseed Park.

In wet conditions, our boys had to kick against a favourable breeze in the first quarter but their focus and dedication to playing team defense kept Grant High School scoreless and enabled us to dominate possession in the forward half of the ground. This resulted in 6 goals early on and enabled our boys to carry the momentum into the second quarter where we kicked a further 5 goals to lead at half time 11.5.71 to GHS 0.1.1.

To the opposition's credit they continued to compete with great intensity in the second half and with rotations being put in place for our boys, the second half was a much more even affair.

Both teams are to be congratulated on their approach to the game, with the final score being Tenison Woods College 15.12.102 defeating Grant High School 3.3.21.

It was an outstanding team performance but some players who stood our were Ben Copping, Jacob Sim, Marcus Brand, Owen Feetom, Cooper McCann, Harvey Croker & Jason Minge. Thanks to Ciaran Buckley & Ben Hardy for coaching. Thanks also to Ethan Flett & Vaughn Stratford for umpiring.
