Underdale High School Soccer Exchange

16.11.22

Recently Underdale High School visited the College to play a series of games against students involved in our Academy and Senior High Performance Soccer Program. The visit included a training session conducted by the High Performance staff from Underdale High School and included a series of small sided games. The first fixture of the day was a mixed game involving girls and boys from each school with Tenison recording the win 4-0. One of the highlights for the college was the outstanding performance of our female players with several players mentioned by the Underdale coaching staff for their contributions.

The next games saw the action head indoors with a series of futsal matches. With the results highlighted below

• Tenison Boys 0 v Underdale Soccer Academy A 1
• Tenison Mixed 5 v Underdale Soccer Academy Mixed 1
• Tenison Boys 2 v Underdale Soccer Academy B 1

The final game of the day was the senior boys 11 aside fixture with both sides keen to play quality football in front of a large crowd. The home side started well controlling the game and creating several chances but it was Underdale that scored first from a corner, beating Kade Turnbull at the back post. With half time approaching the Titans created several chances with Mitch Cornolo coming closest to finding the back of the net and Jayden Prior’s effort from distance turned over.

The second half saw the home side increase the tempo and find chances to break the deadlock with Moo Bya Say finding the net with a wonderful volley from a Mee Reh Htoo cross. Mitch Cornolo put the Titans in front with a super strike from distance before Jayden Prior made it 3 for the Titans. Jack Latham put the icing on the cake making it 4 for the home side.

The incursion was a huge success with all events played in great spirits and friendships formed.
