The Wizard of Oz

16.11.22

On Wednesday 9 November we saw the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre transported ‘over the rainbow’ by our musical production of The Wizard of Oz. The Year 10/11 Musical class showcased their immense talents: from acting onstage, to lighting design and incredible costume and makeup design on display. The cast were ably supported by our chorus, featuring students from Years 5, 7 and 8. The audience were blown away right from the opening note by the musical talents of our 16-strong orchestra, skillfully conducted by Penny Mansell. Another crowd favourite included the cameos from Miss Forrest’s dog George as Toto, and Mr Buckley, Mr Taylor and Mr Patzel as some rather overgrown munchkins! Congratulations to all involved! Many thanks to Mel Robinson and Katrina Mott for their dance choreography, set construction, stage management and ongoing rehearsing and backstage assistance.
