Sammy D Foundation

19.10.22

On Tuesday 18 October the Year 11 students listened to Neil Davis and Matt Allen (Old Scholar) from the Sammy D Foundation, as they discussed Violence Prevention. In the presentation, students heard about Sammy Davis’ story from his father Neil, and how he tragically lost his life at 17 years old as the result of a one punch attack. Students were given examples of the characteristics of violence and the consequences that it has on victims, perpetrators, bystanders, families, friends and the broader community. The program is aimed at changing student’s attitudes towards violence by educating them about the negative impacts and providing them with strategies to keep themselves and their mates safe. We’d like to thank the Sammy D Foundation for visiting our College and educating our students.
