Charity Day

24.08.22

On Thursday 18 August we held our annual Charity Day!

The day began with the Whole School Mass in the Barrie Holmes Stadium, with Father Peter inspiring students to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. As the day is a fundraiser for our partnership with Timor-Leste the 10 year anniversary video created was played so the college community could appreciate where the money raised is going to. Year 10 student Dom Gertners then sang his original composition ‘Be The One’ created in the Music Pathways Gifted and Talented class inspired by Mr Mezinec's theme to students. The performance we all heard at Charity Day was the result of many hours work and is this week's school bell!

An exciting Ninja Warrior event planned by School Captains Tess Kenseley and Riley Turnbull along with the Senior Student Leaders was livestreamed to the gym. Staff and student leaders participated in Ninja Warrior themed challenges to compete for valuable Founder points.

Year 12 students held lots of great activities throughout the day in buddy classes. Students engaged with animals at a petting zoo, table tennis, basketball, just dance, a photo wall, quizzes, slime and biscuit decorating, to name a few.

Many classes at lunchtime ran a variety of stalls with items that they had recycled, created, grown, baked as well as a student-run BBQ, with all money raised going to Timor-Leste.

Thank you to the Australian Fish Market for donating $100 worth of chips, and to Collins Court Butchers for supplying us with sausages and hamburgers at a discounted price!

We raised a total of $4,068.25, with all profits going to Timor-Leste!
