Year 7/8 State Basketball Champions

13.07.22

We are extremely proud to have had a group of 23 basketballers represent the College at the 7/8 Knockout Basketball State Finals in Adelaide! Both the girls and boys teams played three round-robin games, where their efforts saw them progress to a semi-final. Both matches were very hard-fought but we managed to come away with a win in both - advancing to the Grand Finals! Girls Grand Final - Tenison Woods College vs Immanuel College The girls were up first, matching up against a very strong team from Immanuel College who we'd previously lost to in the round-robin. The girls stepped up for what we knew would be a difficult game and gave an incredible performance to be crowned State Champions! TWC 26 - 10 IC Boys Grand Final - Tenison Woods College vs Concordia College The boys matched up against a powerful side from Concordia College who we also lost to in the round-robin. The match came down to overtime, where the boys showed great fight to get the win and also be crowned State Champions! TWC 27 - 24 CC Led by coaches Tom Daly and Kym Hammond, and assisted by Elyse Willoughby, there was an excellent display of sportsmanship and teamwork! Congratulations to our State Champion Basketballers!
