Knockout Football

29.06.22

Our Year 7/8 football team travelled to Adelaide on Tuesday to play in Round 1 of the School Knockout Football Tournament.

Game 1 - Blackwood High School
Coming up against Blackwood High School in the first game was always going to be a tough battle. We started well and managed to score early thanks to clever passages of play from Harvey Croker and Riley Lawrence. After dominating most of the second and third quarters we were unable to convert and left Blackwood with some hope heading into the last quarter. Thankfully, our defence held strong and was able to repel Blackwood's advances to leave us with a 14-point victory.

Game 2 - Nazareth Catholic College
Next up was Nazareth Catholic College who where physically tough competition. We were able to start the game well and, across all four quarters, move the ball in a much faster and more definitive fashion. Pleasingly, many of our players were able to get their hands on the ball and provide a high-quality display of 7/8 football.

There were many good players across the day and all of the boys should be proud of their efforts. We now head to Round 2 against Sacred Heart Champagnat Campus.
