Vinnies Day

29.06.22

On Thursday 13 June we celebrated our annual Vinnies Day, taking part in an appeal which provides emergency relief to people at risk and experiencing homelessness in our communities. Through the generous support of our students, families and staff, we can make a difference to the lives of many this Winter.

All students were encouraged to wear casual clothes and donate a gold coin which goes directly to the Winter Appeal. Junior School students donated brand new beanies, socks, gloves, scarves or an item of canned food, while Middle and Senior School students donated canned food. We raised a total of $1,523 for Vinnies! This includes over $140 that our Junior School STAR reps helped raise at the Book Sale!

Our Senior Students helped with the delivery of cans, with our College community donating so many that Vinnies ran out of storage room! The extra cans were given to Foodbank. A tremendous effort that we are extremely proud of!

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
