Basketballers Thrive in Knockout Basketball Competition

01.06.22

On Monday 30 May we took a squad of Year 7-8 basketballers to the Ice House to participate in a knockout basketball competition.

The boy’s team, coached by Kym Hammond, first took on Grant High School. We made a great start to the game with everyone contributing and everyone on the team scoring, as we won 88-28. In the second game against Mount Gambier High School our defence improved and our team game was excellent. We often made the extra pass to get an easy shot and worked well together to win 93-10.

The girl’s team, coached by Tom Daly, worked cohesively to achieve a strong win against Grant High School in the first game. The team tactics really improved for the second game against Mount Gambier High School and the team showed excellent sideline support to achieve our second win.

Both teams represented the College extremely well and showed excellent sportsmanship towards the opposition, umpires and each other.

Well done to all students on being so versatile and willing to share court time. A big thank you for our coaches and supporting staff!
