World Record Attempt at Lid Sorting

25.05.22

As a part of Laudato Si Week, which took place at the College in Week 4, students in Year 5-8 were encouraged to help the Project Recology team with our never-ending job of plastic lid sorting. About 40 students formed small groups to see if they could beat last year’s record of 16,000 lids. Each group worked diligently and collaboratively throughout lunchtime, sorting a total of 18,324 lids. These lids will be sorted further into plastic types before being shredded into chips and turned into new products for the College community. Thanks to all students involved and look out in next week’s newsletter to see where these lids will be utilised!
