K's and Casuals for Caritas

30.03.22

Last week on Friday 25 March we hosted our annual “K’s and Casuals for Caritas” event which was a great success, with the College community walking laps around the Marist Park oval to raise funds for the annual Project Compassion appeal. Collectively as class groups, we walked approximately 170km throughout the day and raised $1646.60 from casual day donations, which is an amazing effort!

Principal, David Mezinec, challenged our community to consider the walk that our global brothers and sisters take each day for clean water, food and basic necessities Our staff and students certainly aspired to ‘Be the One’, as they walked to raise awareness, and money, for those in our world who need it most. Students also competed in a relay-style event, carrying buckets filled with tins of food to gain a greater understanding of the walk taken each day by so many people in our world.

A special thank you to our Year 6 student leaders who assisted throughout the day - they were an incredible help to staff and students in one of their first leadership opportunities for 2022.

Online donations can still be made here.
