Beekeeper Visit

01.09.21

Year 2 students recently attended an engaging and interactive session learning about the wonderful world of bees! Local beekeeper Matthew from Unspun Honey taught students about the lifecycle of the bee, the roles of bees in the hive as well as how bees make honey.

Children were fascinated to see a real bee colony, live in action in the observation hive. Matthew also brought along his beekeeping tools and equipment, as students had the opportunity to see, touch and smell honeycomb and bees wax.

Students were inspired to be more aware of bees in our environment and more knowledgeable about how we can protect these amazing insects!
