2021 Charity Ball - Raising Funds for Timor-Leste

02.06.21

Last Friday 28 May, Tenison Woods College held the annual Charity Ball, marking 10 years since the first Timor-Leste Immersion. The Charity Ball was introduced as one of the main fundraising initiatives back in 2016, and has since become a highlight on the student’s social calendar.

Year 11 and 12 students enjoyed a great night of music, food and drinks provided by the talented Academy of Hospitality students and staff, as well as an auction of ‘money-can’t-buy’ experiences to raise funds for Timor-Leste.

Even though the immersion cannot be held this year and students are not able to visit the communities, Tenison Woods College continues its commitment of support with much needed monetary donations.

Many thanks to all staff who contributed to make this year’s Charity Ball such a success; the Public Relations and Events team, Jenny McCourt, Jen Vanikiotis and the Academy of Hospitality students, the amazing College staff who made items, delivered items, donated goods and supervised on the night; the night wouldn’t have happened without their support. Special thanks to the Mount Gambier City Council for providing the venue free of charge and Donut King for supplying delicious donuts.

A big thank you must go to the students who attended! You danced the night away, supported the auction and made the ordinary extraordinary.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
