Annual Cardijn Exchange: Let the games begin

26.05.21

The annual Cardijn-Tenison Woods Exchange has arrived. Established in 1987 by the respective sports coordinators Paul Rijken and Robert Doyle, the exchange returns after being cancelled in 2020 with great anticipation and excitement.

Departing this coming Sunday and returning Tuesday evening, the exchange offers great opportunities for our students and staff. As a 56 member group with 7 staff, we have 11 teams, consisting of Football, Netball (A+B), Basketball (boys and girls), Touch Football (mixed), FUTSAL (boys and girls), Volleyball (boys and girls), and debating, who will be assuming the negative position on the topic “Social Media causes disconnection.” Students will be playing multiple sports over the three day event.

The Tenison Woods College team is highly enthusiastic about the opportunities to reacquaint with staff and students, reinvigorate the spirit of friendly competition and remind ourselves of how wonderful this exchange has been, is now and will continue to be. Whether it be the debate, the musical performances or the sports, the 3- day exchange will create wonderful opportunities for us to see each other’s strengths, witness each other’s courage, celebrate traditions, and allow us to see the many benefits of camaraderie with its core values of friendship and unity. Fundamentally, the exchange is a unique opportunity that fosters a genuine spirit of sportsmanship, friendship and excellence. Good luck to all students. Let the games begin!
