Laudato Si ' Week Activities

26.05.21

Last week the College celebrated Laudato Si’s sixth anniversary, a pivotal encyclical by Pope Francis calling Catholic’s around the world to care for our common home. This encyclical provided the foundation for our College’s focus on ecology and sustainability and has led to many whole school initiatives and curriculum integration over the past six years. Students and staff participated in a variety of events to acknowledge Laudato Si' week, such as plastic lid sorting in the Recology space, a nature walk and lunchtime clean-ups! Participation in the clean-ups secured students a ticket for a special lunchtime movie viewing. The College also held a Healthy ‘Nude Food’ Information Night in the Lecture Theatre, to discuss fuelling your family with healthy food and reducing waste. A great level of involvement from students and staff all around the College!

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
