Ramadan Celebrations

19.05.21

We acknowledge last Wednesday 12 May was the the end of Ramadan for our Muslim sisters and brothers within our community.

Eid al- Fitr is an important Muslim Feast Day as it marks the end of the month long fasting and prayer time of Ramadan. Families get together with special foods to praise and thank God. It is also a time to show forgiveness and give money to the needy. As with our Catholic faith, the Feast Day can be celebrated a little differently in different countries.

God of all people,
We honour our sisters and brothers who follow the religious tradition of Islam and we particularly ask your blessing for our students and staff who are Muslim, and Muslims around the World as they observe this holy Feast Day. May the gifts of their tradition be a blessing to them and to all people as we seek to find peace, justice and sustainability in our challenged world.
Amen
