Mother's Day Breakfast

12.05.21

On Friday morning, Mothers, Grandmothers and friends came together at the College for a special Mother's Day Breakfast. Families gathered in the Barrie Holmes Stadium at 7:45am eager to share breakfast with their loved ones, acknowledging and looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday. A great way to show appreciation to all the special women in our lives.

We pray for our mothers and those who are like mothers to us – our grandmothers, our aunties, our sisters, our teachers and our friends. We remember our mothers who are with us today, those who cannot be here or are not in our lives, and those who have died and are with God. Through the love, care and protection they show for us, mothers help us to understand more of what God is like.

Mothers often show us the way when we feel like we are in the darkness.

Mothers are God’s special people. They bring us strength and comfort.

Mothers can cheer us up when we are feeling down.

Mothers help to nourish us, care for us and keep us healthy.

Mothers want us to learn and grow by helping us with our work and reading stories to us.

Mothers have big hearts to hold all the love they have for us even when we make things tough for them.

Lord our God, who listens to the humblest of voices, hear the prayers we bring to you today.

God of love, bless our mothers with peace and happiness We pray, Hold our mothers close to you

God of love, bless our mothers with laughter and joy We pray, Hold our mothers close to you

God of love, bless our mothers with good health and love We pray, Hold our mothers close to you

God of love, keep our mothers free of heartache, hurt and sorrow We pray, Hold our mothers close to you

God of love, watch over our mothers who are not with us We pray, Hold our mothers close to you

Loving God, with hope and faith we ask you to accept the prayers we make to you.

Amen.
