Jared Kuhl Wins Bowling Award

31.03.21

Year 9 student Jared Kuhl has spent the summer driving back and forth to Adelaide to compete in the Under 16 SACA Premier Cricket Competition. Over the course of the season Jared managed to take a very impressive 28 wickets at an average of 8.18 to narrowly edge out Port Adelaide captain Gautam Dhillon who took the same amount of wickets but had an inferior bowling average. Jared also managed to take 2/19 in the semi final to finish his season on 30 wickets. Of the 118 players to bowl for Glenelg this season (male and female) across all grades Jared finished 4th on the wicket taking list, even higher than state opening bowler Chadd Sayers who was down in 11th spot. Notably Jared is only 14 years old and competing amongst players much older. Jared’s mother Michelle Kuhl notes that the family would have travelled over 20,000 kilometres this season for games and state trainings.

Jared is a member of the High Performance Sports Program and an integral member of both the 8/9 and Open boys cricket team. From all at Tenison Woods College, congratulations on a tremendous achievement.
