Swimming Success at SA State Championships

Six of the College’s students from Blue Lake Y Swim Club spent four days over the long weekend in Adelaide at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre competing at the SA State Championships. These students included Hayley, Aleisha and Mikayla Pearson, Thomas and Nicholas Bignell, and Annabelle Solomons. To the credit of the students' hard work, many personal bests were achieved and there was a strong presence in the finals with six medals won and a SA Country record broken. The results for the students' success is as follows:

Thomas Bignell
Made the finals in all of his events. He also broke the 16yo 50 breaststroke SA Country record. Medals: 16yo – 50 breast silver. 200 breast, 100 breast, 50 back – all bronze. Finals: 100 back – 4th. 50 free – 6th. 100 free – 8th

Hayley Pearson
Medals: 17-18yo - 50 fly silver, 100 fly bronze. Finals: 50 breast – 6th

Mikayla Pearson
Finals: 12yo 50 fly – 8th

Annabelle Solomons
Finals: 13yo 100 back – 10th, 13yo 50 back – reserve

Aleisha Pearson
Finals: 14yo 50 back, 200 back, 100 back – reserve

Nicholas Bignell
Swam PB in 100 breast.
