Students Raise Money for ‘Fight MND’

11.11.20

Last Term we had the return of ‘The Drawing Club’ with a group of Year 6 boys joining the fight against MND. Motor neurone disease (MND) is an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves. It causes weakness that gets worse over time. The boys of ‘The Drawing Club’, Jeremy Mackenzie, Jack Holmes, Max Lynn and Archie Aitken wanted to raise enough money to help find a cure for MND. They have been motivated by people in their lives struggling with MND and have set themselves a challenge to raise as much for the cause as they can, with this being their third fundraiser in two years! The boys have given up many lunch and recess breaks to make these competitions happen. They have previously held plane decorating competitions and drawing competitions, but this year their competition had a twist! The boys wrote a story for the different age groups which the students then had to draw an illustration for. The boys were blown away with the large number of entries they received and managed to raise over $100 for ‘Fight MND’. Thank you to everyone who participated, every dollar counts in the search for a cure to this terrible disease. Jeremy, Jack, Max and Archie have demonstrated inspirational determination to create a world for the better with their fabulous generosity! Congratulations on your outstanding work for ‘The Drawing Club’.
