Records Broken At SAPSASA Athletics

04.11.20

On Wednesday 28 October, 64 Tenison Woods College Year 3 to Year 7 students participated in the SAPSASA District Athletics Day. Accompanied by myself, Tina Opperman, Ian Ross, Nick Kourmouzis and David Cole, we began our day by walking to Mount Gambier High School for a day of running, throwing and jumping. All children spent the day with their allocated chaperone to compete in their events.

Congratulations to students Jacob Salmon and Hamish Gordon who had a particularly good day with Jacob breaking the 800-metre record by 4 seconds, running it in 2.23.22 seconds and Hamish breaking the shot-put record by throwing 10.27 metres and also breaking the discus record throwing 26.8 metres. A very proud moment for the boys.

Well done to all who participated and shone bravely all day!
