Open Girls Basketball Team Put Up a Fight in Grand Final

21.10.20

On Thursday 15 October, the Tenison Woods College Open Girls Basketball team competed in the SSSSA Knockout State Championships in Adelaide.

The girls were very enthusiastic to showcase their skills, as they worked very hard right from the start in their first game against Mercedes College. The girls showed great teamwork and determination, as they fought to secure a 6-point win in a tough game, to earn their place in the Division A State Grand Final.

In the Grand Final the girls were up against the much older and experienced Immanuel College. The girls had a great start, putting pressure on the opponent right away by securing early points. The girls battled right until the end, but unfortunately lost by 11 points in a close game. All girls contributed across the two games and their effort and attitudes on and off the court were fantastic.

A big thank you to Tom Daly for coaching the team and also to Year 12 Emily Dawe for assisting.
