Year 5 Students Go Back in Time to Colonial Australia

16.09.20

On Wednesday 9 September, the Year 5 cohort travelled to Penola to explore what it was like to live in the colonial past as they have been learning about how the colonial settlement began, what life was like and how it progressed in their history studies.

The trip to Penola included a visit to the Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre, a visit to the School House and a walk down Petticoat Lane as the students learnt more about the history of Colonial Australia. This gave them the opportunity to develop their understanding of how everyday life would have looked in the past.

The students thoroughly enjoyed stepping back in time for the day with their old fashion attire, games and schoolhouse experiences.
