Year 12 Design Students’ Leadership and Legacy

24.06.20

Last Friday, 19 June, we welcomed Brian Haywood from the Nature Glenelg Trust to accept the money raised by our Year 12 Design students to assist in their significant work. The money was presented by Design and Technology teacher Brad Colliver and Sustainability Leader Lachie Price.

Students raised just under $2,000 from selling picnic benches that they constructed in class, and the money raised by students will go towards the Glenelg Nature Trust’s efforts at the Mount Burr Swamp, to preserve and protect its special attributes for future generations.

A big thank you to One Forty One for helping out the cause by donating all the timber used for the tables, while Banner Mitre 10 Mount Gambier supplied all the fixings for the tables. We thank these businesses for their contributions.

Well done to all students involved on raising money for such a great cause, and leaving a legacy for future generations at the Mount Burr Swamp.
