ELCC Students Learn About A College Founder

10.06.20

This week the ELCC children in the McAuley Kindergarten Room have been learning all about one of our founders, Catherine McAuley. They have explored the story of Catherine McAuley, the Sisters of Mercy and their legacy to make life better for children that are poor, sick or homeless.

A special quote of Catherine McAuley’s that the children have been learning is, “proof of love is deed”. This short quote reminds us to let our kind and caring actions be the way that we show love to our family and friends.

The children have engaged in a variety of hands on experiences including observational drawings of Catherine McAuley, the illustration of a book about her life and they have also created their own crosses using twigs and have attached Catherine’s special message to these crosses to later share with those that they love.
