Our Design and Technology team decided that our Year 8 Design and
Technology subject needed a major upgrade in 2020. After extensive amounts of research and development, they decided that the chosen product
needed to integrate traditional hands-on skills, design, electronics and
emerging technologies; such as laser.

One of our key Design and Technology teachers led the charge with the
concept of redesigning a speaker, which needed to better suit the interest of a specific client - themselves! The students worked through a range of
tutorials, on our laser design software to finalise their individual designs for client approval.

Over the course of four weeks the students deconstructed an existing speaker, critiqued, redesigned, laser cut, soldered and assembled their own portable Bluetooth speaker. An excellent outcome!  Well done to the students for the outstanding final designs!
