Relay for Life Success

19.03.20

Last Friday night, Tenison Woods College participated in ‘Relay for Life’ at the Blue Lake Sports Park. The Relay for Life allows the community to celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, as well as honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.

An outstanding group of Year 12 students volunteered to take part, taking it in turns to walk and participate in activities, with the majority camping out for the night. The students also did a brilliant job donating their time and money toward fundraising.

The event was a great success with Tenison Wood College raising a total of $6,257.35 over 3 weeks for the Cancer Council, assisting the Limestone Coast’s fundraising efforts of $70,000.

We want to thank everyone who supported our Year 12 students through their efforts, including teachers, family members and friends. A big thank you is extended to Ally Tucker for her extensive work in organising our College students as well as Chris O’Callaghan and Elisa Lawrie who supervised the students overnight.

A huge thank you to the students on their great fundraising effort and participation, and we commend them on their brilliant representation of our school community while supporting such a worthy cause.

Ruby Moore | Year 12 Mission Leader
