Year 8-12 Athletics Carnival

27.02.20

Congratulations to all students, staff and enthusiastic family supporters with our 2020 Athletics carnival last week.

The students created a wonderful atmosphere down at Marist Park with vibrant and creative costumes coinciding with the TV Show and Movie Characters theme, high participation rates and fun and enjoyment in both the championship and novelty events, which were led by the Year 12 cohort.

The traditional House Spirit award was hard to award due to high levels of participation and seeing record attendance numbers, but Champagnat walked home with the braggers prize.

We started off the day with the progressive relays, with students from Reception to Year 12 competing against the athletic Staff Olympic team. This was followed by the newly introduced House chants, the lively street parade, and the drum corps.

Throughout the day, we witnessed many wonderful throws, jumps and sprints in the large variety of events for each age group. Congratulations to all Houses for their commitment to this day.

Special mention to the following students:
Fastest Male: Broc Linden
Fastest Female: Joey Jones
Con Brown Award: Jackson Bowden
Junior Athletics Champion: Sophie Wrightson
Senior Athletics Champion: Emily Dawe

Congratulations also goes to the following age group Champions:

Overall house results were:
