Year 12 Time of Retreat

05.02.20

On Wednesday of Week 1, the Year 12 cohort of 2020 embarked on a journey of spiritual growth, reflection, and planning for both Year 12 and their lives ahead. The Year 12’s stayed at Cave Hill Creek, located in Beaufort Victoria. The stunning mountain ranges and lake made a picturesque backdrop for the three-day retreat. During the three days, the Year 12’s explored the theme ‘The Road of Life’. Students and staff worked in a combination of large and small groups and time was spent having discussions, experiencing different forms of prayer, reflecting on  priorities during Year 12, and where the future might take them.
The class of 2020 was also fortunate to be joined by three past scholars from the class of 2018; Liam McEvoy, Tori McIntyre and Evangelia Wichmann. These past scholars helped lead the retreat, offering wisdom and advice for Year 12 and life beyond school. The retreat was also a wonderful opportunity for students to get closer to one another and bond as a group. Many students enjoyed fun activities organised by the student leaders, as well as some time on the water either canoeing or rafting. Students and staff were also fortunate enough to be joined by Fr Dean on Thursday morning who later celebrated mass that evening. We thank him for making the Retreat a priority in his busy schedule.
The Year 12’s have now returned to school and we wish them all the best for the year ahead.
