Skilled Students off to Sydney for National Robotics Competition

21.11.19

Tenison Woods College recently competed at the “FIRST Tech Challenge” robotics competition in Adelaide. The FIRST Tech Challenge gives middle and senior students the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem. Teams are challenged to design and build a robot using a kit of parts and within a common set of rules to play a sophisticated field game.

The College’s team, “The Magmadroids” competed against some highly skilled teams from across the state. By the end of the tournament, the team were victors and have now been invited to the National tournament in Sydney at very short notice!

The students are now looking for sponsors to financially support the team and assist in the travelling costs. If any businesses or individuals are interested in assisting, please contact Jason de Nys via email, at denyj@tenison.catholic. edu.au

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
