Whole School Mass Celebrated last Thursday

23.08.19

Last Thursday, the College celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Whole School Mass, in the Barrie Holmes Stadium.

This is one of the most important Feast days in the Liturgical year and highlights the importance of Mary in our Catholic Tradition. This Feast celebrates Mary being ‘assumed’ body and soul into heaven after her death to share in the Resurrection of her Son, Jesus.

The Feast of the Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation for all Catholics. Students, Staff, Parishioners along with members of the College community came together to celebrate Mass, led by Fr Dean.

Special thanks to Staff who volunteered to sing and play “Gentle Woman” for the Mass Reflection. As well as being very talented and brave, your involvement and participation modelled to students that we all have talents to contribute to the community. Thanks also to the Student singers, musicians, readers, servers and staff who assisted with IT, set up, music, artwork and all aspects of preparation.
