Robots take over Lecture Theatre

06.06.19

Pauline and Kevin Taylor from ‘The World of Robotics’ have been at Tenison
Woods College for the past week running a Robotics workshop for students in
the Junior and Middle schools.

Robotics Education is an exciting and unique series of hands-on workshops, giving students the opportunity to create moving robots. The students are set a task, whether it be creating an
athlete robot, a recycle robot or a mathematical robot.

Today the task was to create a ‘Robotic amusement centre’ in pairs.

Students were asked to design, construct, test, evaluate and modify a robot that could perform 3 different actions.

Pauline and Kevin have been visiting Tenison Woods College for 10 years. They have seen many students develop their creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills while working collaboratively in a team situation.

ROBOTICS is part of the STEM based learning, which provides students with
real world skills from within a classroom setting.
