Open Girls Football Team take the win in second half

15.05.19

Monday saw our Open Girls Football team play against both Mount Gambier High and Grant High at Vansittart Park.

In our first match against Mount Gambier High the girls got off to a slow start and found themselves trailing by 15 points at half time. After a much better second half the girls fell an agonisingly 4 points short. The highlight of the match was Ellen Brown running into an open goal only to get confused and kick it through the points. Best players were Emmason Ilsley, Kayleigh Taylor, Georgia Clarke and Sophie Ellis.

After Grant High enjoyed a huge victory against Mount Gambier High, the Tenison girls went into their game against Grant High lacking confidence. Grant High kicked the first 3 goals of the game and at half time, they were 15 points up. After a few positional changes and a massive second half from Captain Katie Dent, the Tenison girls stormed home to win by 1 point. Ellen Brown redeemed herself outstandingly by kicking 3 of the goals.  Best players were Katie Dent, Ellen Brown, Georgia Clarke and Sophie Ellis.

Well done to all of the girls.
