Woods Senior School (10-12)

In the Senior School, students are presented with their most challenging, yet memorable and rewarding years of schooling. It is within the Senior School that lifelong friendships are forged and pathways towards employment or tertiary study are laid, with students taking control of their future and striving to achieve individual goals.

Our teachers work alongside students, helping refine the skills they need to successfully engage in an ever-changing world. Our students have so many opportunities available to them; all of which play a part in their personal development.

Tenison Woods College has enjoyed a long tradition of academic excellence and broad subject choices across Years 10 to 12. We are committed to providing a meaningful curriculum designed to promote a love of learning and educate the whole person, enabling the spiritual, intellectual, cultural, physical and social development of emerging adults. Senior School students completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) can opt for a fully academic program on the pathway to achieving an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and tertiary studies, a program rich in Vocational Education & Training (VET) leading directly to employment, or a mixture of these based on the student’s individual strengths and interests.

Regardless of a student’s pathway, we encourage the development of individual talents and abilities through an intensive pastoral and learning support programme. This approach provides students with the direction and confidence to take their achievements to new heights while contributing to the world in which they live.

In addition to their studies, we encourage students in the Senior School to make the most of the broad range of co-curricular opportunities available to them and to aspire to positions of leadership among their peers. Our focus is the preparation of young people to be active citizens in a global world.

Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
