Subject Description

In Year 8 Basketball Academy, students build on their basic basketball skills and start focusing on more advanced techniques and strategies. This course covers intermediate dribbling, shooting under pressure, advanced passing, and defensive tactics. Students will engage in structured drills, competitive games, and tactical discussions to enhance their understanding and application of basketball skills.

Sports Academy participants are expected to be committed to a high standard of performance and dedicated to developing their skills and knowledge within their chosen sport.

Content

Sessions incorporate intensive drills, game scenarios, and strategic thinking to enhance decision-making and spatial awareness, preparing players for higher levels of competition.

  • Develop advanced technical skills in footwork, dribbling, passing, and shooting.
  • Improve understanding and execution of offensive and defensive tactics.
  • Enhance physical fitness specific to basketball, including agility and endurance.
  • Foster teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship on and off the court.
  • Build a positive and disciplined approach towards practice and competition.
