Subject Description

Students in Year 8 Football(Soccer) will enhance their soccer abilities by focusing on more advanced techniques and game strategies. The course will cover a deeper understanding of attacking and defensive principles, as well as further developing individual skills and fitness. All sessions are planned within the skill acquisition phase.

Sports Academy participants are expected to be committed to a high standard of performance and dedicated to developing their skills and knowledge within their chosen sport.

Content

Sessions incorporate intensive drills, game scenarios, and strategic thinking to enhance decision-making and spatial awareness, preparing players for higher levels of competition.

  • Enhance dribbling skills with advanced techniques for maintaining control under pressure.
  • Improve passing and receiving accuracy and timing.
  • Develop a variety of shooting techniques for different game situations.
  • Learn advanced defensive skills, including tackling and zonal marking.
  • Understand basic team formations and strategic play.
  • Improve overall fitness, including agility and stamina.

Assessment
